YOTAMAN85's new 4runner! and what a deal! (or steal?)
The good:
I just got this thing for a killer deal (I think). its a 1990 4runner SR5 3.0, auto loaded with leather, 4x4 (duh), rear locker/limited slip (not sure, haven't had a chance to check it out), power everything and a set of 30/9.50 BFG A/T's with ~80% tread left mounted on my favorite OEM toyota wheels! never really wheeled and runs, rides and shifts GREAT!
The bad-ish:
It has 238K miles, it has some fairly heavy body damage on driver side, it has a loud clack noise when turning at full lock, 4x4 wouldn't engage and it was dirty as hell.
as of now:
I cleaned the inside. super clean with rear seats in great shape along with most of the interior front leather is kinda worn out but supportive, the cargo carpet is toast and smells like old beer. so i replaced it with black industrial carpet. replaced vacuum lines on ADD and 4x4 works great. all electrical components work after a couple replaced fuses.
Now for the money spent.... after buying the 4runner, new brake pads for the front, flushing ALL the old brake fluid out (looked like 3 year old motor oil), flushing cooling system and putting half a tank of gas in her.......
drumroll please..... $1476!
so now, full fluid change is the only thing im really gonna do before i start driving it every day. but I am kinda worried about the 3vze with this many miles even though it seems to run great. other then my impromptu post about replacing my rear links (got excited), i really wont to know what i can do to make the motor last. all things checked out, TPS, AFM, timing, fluid levels and such. Im planning an ISR mod, full exhaust and sending in the injectors to RC E to have them cleaned. other then that and a light foot i dont really have any other ideas to prolong the life of the motor.
If any real issue (other then head gasket) that exists on the 3vze I would really appreciate the heads up..
Oh yea pics up soon, all out of batteries for the camera (doh)..

Good deal but I'm still proud of myself for the deal I got on mine. 92 4Runner SR5, 215,xxx miles, $500 in new tires, everything was/is good except a minor tranny problem which is now fixed from a fluid and filter change and an erratic idle due to a vacuum leak. Now it's square and I only paid........$500 for it.
Sorry but it's the best deal I've gotten and I'm still stoked about it.
Good score but we need pics.

Last month, my brother's friend(who I've never met) gave me a 90 sr5 'runner 4x4 w/ a clean title for free. He said it was "messed up". All it needed was a battery. I put it on CL for $2,400 and sold it in literally 30 minutes. Haha. I used that money to buy my '89 Hilux. haha.
