WRX Hood Scoop on a 2nd Gen

Has anyone tried a WRX hood scoop on their 2nd gen truck or 4Runner? I'm considering it for my 3.4L swap into a '90 4Runner but would like to see some pictures and/or get some feedback first.

i prefer a longer and shorter scoop. but i'm sure that'd work if it's what you want to do. plus, if you already have the scoop, get it done cause you can't beat free.

I definetly fabricate a screen across the scoop since small children could get sucked in not too mention large road debris.

If I remember correctly, those are a little more angular right? That might look better on a 2nd gen hood. I do like the WRX idea though.

biggest problem I see with a front facing scoop .. on a "ugly" day , all that wet , crapy weather is blowing right down onto your engine ..

sand and grit are harmfull .

spin it 180 it don't have to be setup like the wrx right? It will still draw from being backwards not that it will really make much differance. Just add a nice screen in and you will be able to see if it needs cleaned whenever your driveing so its kind of a better idea backwards anyway.

The great thing about the Subaru scoops is that they have an intercooler underneath them.

Not a huge fan of the Wrx scoops, like the Outback XT and Saab 9-2x scoops. Only problem is on the Saab they are integral to the hood. Mine catches a little bit road grit not bad. On a truck hood you will not catch much at all.

I like the forester scoop - nothing crazy. The WRX might be a bit much...
