worst rebuild ever~! Need t chain recommendations now
So, I had a bad knock last year. Rod bearings were all nice and chewed up.
I was on a budget, so I went with a cheap rebuild kit that was like 300 bucks including a new crank. I had a leak that turned out to be a bad rear main seal and a defective valve cover gasket. I fixed those last week when I also had to do ANOTHER clutch( now it is still leaking lol and the rear main was bad)
Now, guess what. I am getting what seems to be some pretty bad freakin chain rattle. I used a steel main guide, but I have no doubts that something else like the tensioner is bad also. I had a professional do the machine work and the bottom end, and it seems like everything but that is going bad lol. Shows what kind of skills I have
So now I need some timing chain kit recommendations. I called my local Toyota dealership, WAY to expensive, and they don't really do "kits". They just gave me individual prices. And I don't like the NAPA kits at my work. What I was able to get through my work is an Aisin oil pump and seal, a made in Japan NAPA Altrom water pump, and now I am looking for good timing components: both sprockets, chain, tensioner etc. Something that will hold up, I DO NOT want to have to get back inside that motor again in a couple months. lol
enginbuilder? Go with genuine Toyota and pay up the cornhole? LC engineering (that's all I really know)
And what exactly are Double row chains? I found a cheapy kit through google search
Thanks guys

Yeah I will be doing it myself. It will be my fourth time doing a 22re timing chain. All the others turned out fine, this time I believe to be the cheapy Chinese tensioner or something.
Looking at engnbldr's website, I wish I had gone with him in the first place. A kit from him would have been about as much with what seems to be much higher quality.

Engnbldr, prices are cheap, parts are quality made. I do recommend the fel-pro headgasket kit to accompany.
I went through like 3 other brands of tchain gaskets to get that puppy to seal, before i used the felpro kit.
