Its an 86 22RE 4runner, and it just recently started having this problem.. Cold or warm, it barely idles, unless I keep my foot light on the pedal, the idle will drop real low and die pretty quick.. When its warm, its still pretty low but just shakes the truck, doesnt completely die, and while im driving, acts like the timings advanced and pops a bit on deceleration and seems to miss as well.. The idle adjustment is just barely screwed in there right now, only way to keep it idling when warm.. I pulled the plugs while the engine was running all the cylinders are firing, wires are new and plugs only have bout 15 thousand miles on em, and going to replace the cap and rotor pretty soon here too, checked the timing last night, *5 btdc, right where it should be.. Vaccuum lines all look fine as well.. Any ideas?

Check intake tube from intake to air filter box for cracks.

That was it wab.. Crack on the underside and the cracked rubber connector on the throttle body.. interesting enough, as soon as i press down on the intake tube it runs perfect, let up and it goes to crap and dies.. rotated it around a little bit and put some duct tape on the crack till i can get to autozone or pepboys tommorrow and pick somethin up, might just do the battery swap while im at it too..
