who actually makes the wab fab, addicted, and trail gear ones? they all look identical and the pics on each website are the same.

No one likes allpro offroad? I know they arent the cheapest but after 3 years of abuse I can say mine has served me well.

I'm assuming you are referring to the rear bumpers. Trail Gear has a lot of dealers that sell their stuff. I would assume that this is the case with WabFab and Addicted. Nice bumpers and a good value though. We are a TG dealer too, but I'm not sure we'll list those bumpers on our site when it opens next month. Probably going to stick to our own designs.

The rear tube one I sell is a Trail-Gear bumper. My front is mine. I build them in-house.

I do have a rear one as well that I will be releasing soon that will also be built in-house. I am working on frame brackets and mounting so it can be bolt-on, but its in the works. And, it will be much stouter than the tube style ones available.

Although I don't like stingers much I think that looks pretty good. have you thought about maybe some sort of screen or something for the bottom half of the radiator?

What you need to do is build one that will bolt on to a 1st gen 4runner and that has a swing away tire carrier. I'd buy one next week. :welder:

They all require welding. Bolting on a tire carrier just isn't as option.

Any updates on this bumper??

ohyeahcrx 11-01-2009 09:02 PM

I second that. After seeing that picture I wanna do some research myself on the Trail-Gear rear bumper. Looks nice and stout yet not bulky and annoying

Nice. I like it. Looks less protrusive than the tube style from trailgear.

Don't forget Warn and ARB! You need lots of $$$ though, as they're each between $800-$900

The pic above is not a TG bumpers. Its an Addicted Offroad bumper.

After really looking at how it needs to be mounted, I can only do them to be weld on if you want it to be strong. The frame mounts look like these:

http://www.toyotaholics.com/support/...7_DSCN0108.JPG

They slide into the frame rails and need to be welded into place.

The main 2x3" square is 3/16" wall and the hitch is also 3/16" wall. I know that the bumper in the pic towed a 5500lb trailer from Colorado to Ohio when Josh moved there a few months ago.

Here is another version of the same bumper on my old 1st gen:

And yes, its strong enough to house a tire carrier:

FWIW, I am just spread too damn thin trying to get all of the products I want into full production. Its a good problem to have, but my "production" line suffers in the long run.
