It took me a few looks to realize what wasn't quite right about this pic. Then I saw it is an extra cab on a reg cab frame. LOOKS GOOD.:bounce:

=) Thanks. Going to move the rear axel back so the shackles are @ the end of the frame

Maui huh? Stop wheeling and go fishing, better yet go hit the surf with a gun and get some pu-pus (spelling? it sounds like poo-poos) for grilling.

Oh and great looking rig!!!! :eeek:

IngSoc 09-27-2011 03:53 PM

Bwahhaah how am I supposed to get to all the best spots? What fishing in dried up riverbeds isnt the best idea? Hey I got a better idea why dont ya come out and ill take ya fishing.

Man I love Maui!! I am one of those lucky people who had an airline father and got yearly dividends for living in Alaska so regular trips were made hehe. I have been a few times as an adult, the last 2 with the wife who also absolutely loves it.

If I can ever figure out how to afford to live there I would move in a heartbeat lol.

Good being a relative term....

Get that axle moved back. You have WAYYY too much departure angle

camorokkrwlr 09-27-2011 08:36 PM

i would bob it right behind the spring mount. . . .:hillbill:

Good being a relative term? Am I detecting some haterisms from the OG DC?!? :sickle: Lol, Any who im kinda stumped with the WAYYY too much departure angle more than any thing. Didnt realize that was a bad thing. Pls do explain.

whoa! don't throw away the benefits of your short wheelbase. cut that frame behind the shackle mounts and leave the axle where it is!

a short wheelbase extended cab would be a very rare and very cool vehicle.

DC is referring to the butt dragging set up you have now.
Take a straight edge from your tire to your rear bumper, measure the angle it is probably around 30* compare that to your front.
Low departure angle = crap, higher departure angle is good..same thing can be said about approach angles:google:

Edit- how are those nerf bars holding up?

IngSoc 09-28-2011 12:00 PM

Yeah I got the concept of approch and depature angel but thanksfor the none the less awsome expl=ination =) Thought he was saying if I moved the axel back I would have too much angel and I didnt think that was possible. Mos tof it comes from that wicked anchor That I got on there for the time being so the fuzz didnt harrass me. As far as moving the springs back I was under the impression that a slightly longer WB from the singel cab and a shorted than the ex cab is perfect (about 115 I belive?) I wanna keep the flat bed the size it is cuss I sleep on it when I camp and want to get rid of any anchors. The cab sits on the fram at about 3inch higher than stock so it makes it really top heavy (another reason for getting a wider WB?) The nerf bars suppriseingly enugh are holding up GREAT! I use them as hammers from time to time on rocks and have absolutely nobody dammage (should see my buddies with out them EWWWWW). Any who thanks for the input, all of it is greatly appriciated.
