What year of T-100 rear axles for long travel swap?

hi all,

i am investigating options on installing a blazeland long travel kit up front and have been pouring through posts and other boards about installing T-100 axles in the rear to even out the wheelbase.

what years are usually used when swapping in a rear axle? are there difference between a '95, '96, '98? there are a few rears at local pick and pulls but i don't want to grab the wrong one.

i have a '95 4runner currently on OME coils.

any help would be appreciated, thanks!

There is no real set answer, but my best advice would be to measure your 4runner's front and rear track width, then check how much the blaze land kit adds (3.5-4 inches if I remember right) then measure the axles you've found and see where you stand. Remember also that your runner is coil sprung in the rear and the t100 is leaf so you might have to do some spring perch modification or convert it to coils and links...

yeah i was going to do a leaf spring conversion at the same time. i just didn't know if different years had different widths or different wheel requirements. right now i have 15x8" steelies with 3.75" backspace. i didn't want to have to get new wheels/tires.

I've considered this too. I am not sure if the axle changed when the Tacomas came out. However, in my opinion you may as well swap to chevy 63's and move the axle back while you're at it. I have the OME coils as well and even that little amount of lift bothers be because technically it moved the axle forward...

Sorry it took me so long to post I didn't see what you wrote about the leaf swap! I have ZERO issues with my spacers. None at all. I was really nervous about running them due to all the warning, but 5 years later all corners have require nothing but normal maintenance. When I finally get a blazeland kit, I thinking about trading someone my 4 x 1.5" spacers for 2 x 3" ones. That way I won't have to do a rear swap at the same time.

95-98 T100 Rear axles are identical in width, diff size, and axle size. The only difference is the gear ratio.

long travel increases track width 6.5", from 59" to 65.5"
T100 rear axle is 66.75"

the best 63"chevy spring swap thread imo http://www.nwtoys.com/content/135-ch...-swap-faq.html
just don't do the double shackle. i'm going with long shackles mounted above the frame for max travel.
