What would you do about my exhaust leak?

I recently put some headers on my truck from LC and now have an exhaust leak where the headers meet the exhaust pipe. I think it blew out the gasket (3 bolt style gasket) where they meet. What should I do?

Should I get my exhaust guy cut out that piece and weld a pipe in there to fix the problem for good? $25.00

Or should I call LC and have them send me another gasket and just replace it possibly risking the chance of having it happen again? $???

I am planning on putting a jasper 22re engine in at the end of the summer so I am going to need to be able to take the headers out so I am stuck here. Thanks for any help that you can give!!

It's probably a standard header-gasket.
What size pipe is it? 2.25, 2.5", 3"? Just go to your local autoparts store and pick a new one up

would they have the exact gasket? I would have to pull out the old one and match it up, right?

I had a problem blowing out the gaskets from Advanced when I fixed my broken studs. I ended up putting the old ones back in that came with my rebuild kit from engnbldr. They have been fine since. You can see a difference in the quality. I would just replace the gaskets with a better gasket.

I would try another gasket, either store bought or LC bought.. if that doesnt work weld the thing... the exhaust on my 95 runner wouldnt stop leaking, it was welded, one piece from engine to tailpipe... no leaks there My 92 has a LC header, no leaks.. give it another shot

I personally had no luck getting gaskets from the autoparts store, they didnt have the one thick ones, with the metal sheeting inbetween the material

So i went to a muffler shop and got it there, free. =/ ... no leaks no more.

Well, I contacted LC and they are going to send me two new gaskets free of charge. The guy told me they will be in the mail first thing in the morning. Now that is customer service!!! Thanks for all the help.

I think when I get the new motor, I am going to weld it all together but for right now I want to make it easy on my mechanic. lol
