What vinyl patch did you use on your driver's seat?

My truck's had a tear in the side of the driver's seat vinyl for over a decade. It never really bothered me before, but recently I noticed the tear has grown larger and I finally want to patch it up before it makes its way over to the piping between the vinyl and the seat fabric (it's only on the side vinyl currently, about a half-inch below the piping). To repair I think I might stick a piece of fabric inside, then get a curved needle to stitch it up through the added patch so the stitching doesn't simply tear out the vinyl - then over the top maybe encapsulate the stitching with a flexible adhesive, or cover it with a patch.
I see many things that could work for this. Kinda assuming one of the adhesive-backed products might end up failing after the truck bakes in the hot sun, then end up looking like crap. Thinking of using a vinyl adhesive or something like AquaSeal. I'm assuming an upholstery shop would want quite a bit for such a small repair.

What did you use on your seat?

I've never done it. I assume you are hoping to fix your Pickup seats. I've seen some covers that look exactly like the base model upholstery. I also saw some nice ones on Etsy. I have a 98 Tacoma with the 60/40 seat and I found nice covers on Amazon for about $90 that are the same material as Carhart covers. My '89 4Runner still has one Wet Okole on the driver seat. The dogs nails shreded the other side. https://www.realseatcovers.com/produ...smart_campaign
