What is this part called?

Hi guys,

I am working on a 93' 4runner and can't find what's this part called so I can't search/ask for it.

This is attached to the frame. I found the rubber inside here called bump stop, but i need this metal piece that's circular.

Thanks for all your thoughts!

Thanks for the reply.

This is on the read side of the frame. Also I am checking the pics of the SUB-ASSY I don't see a circular metal part like what I have attached to my frame which is rusted.

Am I looking to a wrong part or this was custom/aftermarket?

Thank you

The

BUMPER SUB-ASSY, FRONT SPRING, NO.1; BUMPER, FRONT SPRING, NO.1

(whew!) on my truck has a "rubber" dome and a circular metal backing plate. I haven't removed it (but I have tightened it; when loose it produces an annoying front end rattle), but it looks like the drawing; a single unit with a threaded rod on the back. In other words, yours looks like a very worn version of what I have, including the circular metal part.

what you're looking at is welded to the frame, it's the upper spring mount for the rear coil spring, not something you can order. you are going to have to cut one off of a parts rig. Or you could use this as an excuse to do a solid axle swap with leafs in the rear!

I finally found what it's called.

It's a "Spring Seat" ..

Man I searched for spring housing, spring mount anything you can think of but seat was the one. I even found compatible part at Advanced Auto :) funny how easy to find stuff once you know what's it calledHere is the part: http://tinyurl.com/yax483v7

you might make that work, just make sure you weld it in.

What you are looking for is called "REAR SUB-ASSY, REAR SPRING, REAR RH". For my 1990 SR5 3.0l 4dr the part number is 5130135020, and is still available. Not sure if it's the same for your '93 but it should be because they are both 2nd gen. You can check by VIN at partsouq.com. It is on the diagram 5151:FRAME. I think on the 3rd gen they went to a bolt-on version, but the ones for 2nd gen have to be cut out and welded back on. On my 4runner one of the bump stops has rusted through and taken part of the spring perch with it, and is now rattling around in the spring. My cheap solution was cutting the domed part and bumpstop off a junkyard one, and welding it on over like a cap, without having to replace the whole sub-assembly. Have yet to do it tho, as the broke timing belt has taken precedence.

Hope that helps. Part is available at toyotaparts.mcgeorgetoyota.com for $175.
