I have a 1988 toyota pickup v6 and I was changing the coolant temp sensor and I found this plug with with the wire broke off so I pulled then sensor hoping i could find out with it is. if any one can help with this and tell me where the Cold start injector time switch is

That is one of the coolant temperature sensors, not sure which one though. IIRC, that's not the one for the gauge cluster. So it would be for the ECU or maybe the cold start injector. The color of the connector is what will ultimately tell you which one it is.
to repair it, back the terminal out of the connector (look for the little plastic latch holding the metal bit in place, gently pry away while pushing the terminal out). I've had some success using a safety pin to open the wire crimp, when that hasn't worked I've wrapped the wire around the crimp and lightly soldered it onto the terminal. Ditch the little rubber weather seal, it'll be hard as plastic and you won't be able to repair if it's still on the terminal - reseal the connector with RTV when it's repaired. The only other fix is to find the same connector in a junkyard and solder to the existing wire. |
ok i know it was a coolant sensor from where it is i just do not know what it controls or how to test it and make sure it is good i found out that it looks like the toyota tercel sensor for the fan just not sure if it is the same for the toyota truck?
