What ECU to use?

I am getting ready to start chopping up my 1989 4runner. It is a 22re auto. I am going to be dropping in my engine and trans from my 1987 pickup which is a 22r manual. One of my concerns is which ECU should I be using? According to a 4crawler site the ecu # should be 89661-35150. After calling around to a few places, I was told to use a 89661-35260. Or should I be using ecu 89661-35070 (the computer for a 1987 - which is the year of the engine and trans.) Live in NJ so looking for Federal #'s. All just a little confusing. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Your going to be running a 22r, use the 22r ECU

Any 88 and earlier should work. If you get an auto one you will have to jump some wires but thats it.

I am sorry. I should have stated that I am going to running 22re with the efi when all is said and done. I did some more research and I don't think I should be using a 1987 ecu. I talked to someone else that said in 1989 Toyota manufactured two different 4runners threw out that year and that might be the difference between the two different ecu numbers?
