haha a 22re can't sound really BA lol but throwin a flowmaster on there and chopping the exhaust about a foot after the muffler with a turn down makes mine sound pretty good! Definately nothing compared to a nice rumbling v8 but it definately doesn't sound like a rice rocket, more like a healthy v6....but a 4 cyl

hey dude,

I have a dynomax super turbo cat back, no cat and stock manifold. It sounds a lot better and flows a lot more. Only thing left to do is headers then it would be as good as it gets. You could try that set-up.

The moron who owned my truck before actually did that. He told me it sounded like a V8. What a tool.

header (4 into 1 longtube) no cat, flowmaster and TAILPIPE. Firm believer in tailpipe sounds good. thats for on the street lol. go with no muffler and a stack with a 60 degree bend and a 30 degree cut on the tip. thats what i run and it's flat rude.

Do you always have a CEL lit up?? cause the downstream post cat o2 sensor would notice the cat was missing? And also, what do you do when you go to pass smog?

i had my 22r straight piped for a while i LOVED IT!!! until cops started following me cause it was so loud. theres a 7/11 2 blocks from my house they hang out at and when i was on my way home i noticed theyd be on the side of the road and pull out when i went by and follow me, im prolly just paranoid but i welded it up not too long ago just to be safe.

as far as straight piping goes, i have mine straight with a cat right now, granted its a 3.4 and it sets off car alarms as a drive by. i have 2 12" subs and cranked u can still hear it on the highway it is fricken loud. i have a flowmaster 44 on the way tho, should tone it down a bit.

And mine's definately not obdII lol I've only got the self diagnostic box, however I wish it was cause that would make life easier when the CEL does light up lol

im not sure exactly on straight piping, but i ran my truck with open header for a short while and it was LOUD. at idle it sounded pretty cool and like a v8, but past that it was just stupid loud. with my stereo turned up all the way i could barely hear my music.
