What is best 3rd member for 95 4runner
I have a 95 4runner that is 2wd and set up as a desert prerunner. It has 488 gears in the rear which seems good for the 33's but I would like to get a limited slip or locker for the rear as I believe it has an open rearend. what would be the best route for me to take, what/any year yotas had posi type rears and would fit a 95? It would need to be streetable as well.
Thanks

any 8 inch toyota third will work. Get a selectable locker. either an arb, or get junk yard elocker. You can buy a wiring harness for it from marlin for 40 bucks. you have to drill two more holes to make it work. Get the locker, have a shop throw on some 4.88's, and install will take an afternoon.

my understanding is there is more to modifiying the housing to get an elocker 3rd member to fit... Aussi is suppose to be a great lunhcbox style locker. post some pics of your rig.

I have an e-locker and I love it! It is easy to modify the housing all you have to do is get an e-locker 3rd member gasket and make a stencel out of it. Most of the studs and holes are the same but there are 2 long studs for the e-locker all you really have to do is grind out the part of the stock housing to accept the e-locker and drill and tap the appropriate studs. That is why the gasket works good as a stencel.

It sounds like I should go with an E-locker. Does anyone know of a good source for one in the Sacramento, CA area.
I have been into buggies for a long time and just got into this prerunner. You guys are great and look forward to your help. I will post some pics soon.
Thanks again

I got mine from TAP which is in Rancho Cordova I believe pretty close to Sacramento. I think the company is a joke and their customer service is horrible but man do they have a good selection of Toyota parts.
