Welded on Lightbar :) PICS ADDED!

I was wondering if anybody else did this? I made one out of 2x1 tube steel and fabbed two plates to cap it and hold the "bar" up out of 1/4" plate steel, and then I welded that to 3/4x8" strips that fit into the channels and then I ran a bead all of the way around so it is water tight. lol I imagine that you could probably lift the body off of the frame with it actually, it probably doesnt look as spiffy as a storebought one, but I was looking for something rugged, as around here there is a lot of brush to get through :) So has anyone done this too? And has anyone had any problems doing this?

I was going to get a single tube bent up (pre runner style) and bolt it to the front bumper so I could mount 2 lights up..

got pics?

i just mounted my hella's on the front bumper

I was going to do that but I was worried about blocking airflow through the grill.

I just noticed that the front bumper didnt have a whole lot to bolt onto. And I actually just wanted them on top. Also I have seen that they sell lightbars but I cant figure out how they were mounted? There is nothing to clamp onto and then if you had to drill holes, there is the chance of leaks and so I did a little investigation and the sheetmetal was thick enough to weld on so I went that way. I dont want a show truck by any means so I just got some scrap iron and put it together. :)

I will put pics up shortly. lol I didnt do it right away cause I didnt have a camera when I did it and it was real tricky to weld so they arent that pretty. I will go take some pics right now.

I have one with 4 8" lights off the bumper and can't get my temp up over 1/2 so I would say that blocking air flow is a nonconcern. Just possition your light right and no problems on mine I have two lights in the middle on top and two lights out to the sides and on bottom.

I've been thinking of have one built for the front of mine, similar to "gerdos" it is considerd a prerunner style light bar. Why they don't make them for 3rd gens is beyond me." There is enough room"! I may be making more than one, if I get around to doing it. This is the one I've been looking at: Yes I know it's a ford:http://offroadworld.tenmagazines.com...&n=78628&pos=1

Do you goys have any better pics of the ones up top? Also, are there any issues with these being tree magnets? I hear alot of people complaining about getting their lights ripped off by trees. I guess it all depends on were your going ?

I was worried about that but people seem to say it doesn't really affect it much?

Here are the images, hopefully they show up, this is my first time to post images. Also pardon the paint job, it has been real rainy here and I just put a sloppy coat of primer on.
