water pump on 3vze

probobly a dumb question but i wana know if i half to take the timing belt off to change the water pump on the 3VZE,, just never done it to mine yet and just wana be sure u kno,, any advice, thanks

you may as well replace while you're in there. 50-100 bucks.

Yes, the water pump is driven by the timing belt.

And like the man says, don't bother putting the old one back on.

You will likely get antifreeze on the timing belt, causing it to weaken and eventually fail. The FSM has cautions not to get any fluids on the belt. I'd change it for sure, and the crank seal while you're in there. I change the cam seals with every belt also--leaking seals can get oil on the timing belt and cause it to break.
