W-56B vs W-56C

I had a rebuilt transmission put in my 1991 Toyota Pickup 4WD, 22RE, all manual. I had a W-56C before, now have a W-56B. I do mostly highway driving, back and forth to work. No 4 wheeling anymore, no time. It drives great with the B tranny. Just curious, what are the differences between the W-56B vs W-56C transmissions? When would the differences between the 2 be noticed?

If I remember it was Marlin that added the letter suffix . I could be wrong

A W-56 is a W-56

i think that it was marlin that came up with that... the whole thing is confusing.

go on marlincrawler.com and look at the rebuilt trans pics.

one thing to look for is to see if the shifter location is in the same place, wrt the holes in the floorboard... i think that one of 'em is forward shift, the other is top shift??

marlin will tell you that they are both reliable... if you look at the rebuilt prices, i think w56c is more expensive, because it has more parts in it.
