Very WIERD hesitation/stumbling problem

I've posted in the past about this, trying to pin down a hesitation/stubling problem. Happens when accelerating, feels like i'm feathering the brakes as i'm accelerating so the engine struggles but doesn't rev up as easily.

I've fully tuned the engine, cap/rotor/plugs/o2/fuelfilter and disabled the egr, and all of that helped but didn't make the problem go away.

Heres the wierd thing, I notice it will do the hesitating, usually when its cold more so, but sometimes not, but then i'll go into the store or get gas or whatever real quick, then when re-starting the truck it goes away for the rest of that ride. So I did a little test today, I got in the truck (had already driven a bit earlier) and it started the wierd acceleration thing...so when coasting I shut it off and re-started it....and problem gone for the rest of the ride.

what power problem could be temporarily helped by a shutoff and restart????

Resets the ECU maybe?

The stereo in my Impala does that sometimes - seems like it gets out of sync with the ignition. You have to turn off the car then restart it to get it back synchronized
