I would like to know what he used, so i can do it and add some MORE power. There are alot of Camry's here in Belize, number one car i would say. And almost all from the early 90's. So what year was the camry that the OP got his part from. Or what size was the motor?

ok boys! i found a afm that works! i found a 91 with a 4cycl and put it on and the truck started. now heres where im at.
1 the idle is too low
2 after turning the idle up to max its still at 500rpm
3im thinking that the timing might need to be advanced ( i feel this because im feeling more torque at low rpms but it lags a bit while driving like it wants sooooo badly to run hard but can)

so l go and retime the truck ( hopefully the idle will go up from that also )
does anyone have anything else to think of

this is still way too learly to say that this is a good mod or bad mod but the truck is running and we'll see what
happens

OK so just to let everyone know my idle is good runnning 750rpms and smooth as silk ( DID NOT touch the timing as i mentioned i might ) it just smoothed itsself out!
also
THIS AFM IS FROM A camry 4CYCL or 6 CYCL 1991 not a 3.0
3.0 camry will not work
im filling up with gas tonight and will give details as the week progesses
as for power seems a bit torquier but well see
i dont have a dyno or meter to check how lean it is but im starting off with new plugs so i should be able to tell from that a bit ill keep ya posted

Still don't get why the OP won't state what the exact vehicle he took it from, like giving us the VIN.

dont know but i could get the vin from the one i took it off at the junkyard if that helps. mines running good after playing with it a bit i found that the afm needed to be adjusted a bit about 2 clicks and it was really solid. the flapper just needed a bit of adjustment so ill see how it goes over the course of this week

I hope it is the 4cyl that fits the 3VZE and improves it, cause there are countless 4cyl camry motors lying at my friend junkyard. Let me know if that improves power or fuel economy!

What's Happening

I am curious to hear what's going on with this thread.

I am interested in doing this mod, cause like everyone else, GAS is KILLIN' me, so before I make a move to go to the junk yard, I am interested in specifics on this mod.

I.E. VIN # or a Toyota part # of the AFM and/or what exact engine did it come from (3sfe? or other)

The reason being is cause, if I purchase an electrical part at the junk yard they won't take it back, so I want to get it right the first time.

Thanks in advance
RRIND
