Unknown part (pic inside)
When i separated the 3VZE form the tranny and pulled it out, I think this little guy fell out from somewhere. Any ideas where this belongs?
https://www.yotatech.com/gallery/data/500/Unknown.jpg Also, do I need to do anything with the torque converter? I have only swapped manual set-ups, don't have experience with automatics. |
No pic. Please repost.

 I don't think I have seen one of those on my truck... :hillbill:

LOL, yeah, you guys are too quick. Figured it out. ha ha
|
it a piolet bushing
|
So it goes into the torque converter then before I attach the motor to the tranny?
|
take a picture of it next to a penny or something so we can get an idea of actual size
but off the bat looks like one of the guide pins. |
Size reference

it looks like a guide pin for the transmission. it should fit in a hole on the engine block and there should be 2 of them. Its used to help guide in the transmission when you're installing it.

No... Nothing goes on the end of the torque converter, or in the spot in the crank a pilot bearing would go if it was a 5speed. the torque converter has a place on the end that fits into the crank the size of a pilot shaft bearing, made onto/ cast into the converter. |
whatever it is, not from your toyota
|
werd...
Never seen it, me thinks dropped or left in it from a previous service... But it's not as good a find as my new Snap-On spark plug socket:D |
Looks like the flux capacitor bushing to me.

|
could be the heating coil bypass valve diode inducer.
|
even if it were a manual, a pilot bushing will not have the relief cut in it; it would be a solid ring, but correct me if I'm mistaken...
it almost just looks like some sort of flange bushing for a bolt hole, kind of like what you find pressed into a lot of alternators  http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n...dom/flange.jpg |
