Turning over but not starting

Turning over but not starting
Just put in rebuilt 22-re, new rotor, distributer, starter. It has spark and it turns over and has run just fine before last night. It conked out while on the freeway, and wouldnt start in gear with the clutch out going 60mph, and will not start now. I got zapped pretty good while poking around the airbox looking for a bad ground so I checked all the wires and ground connections, they look good. Should I invest the 300 for a new ignition module, or replace the coil? Any ideas?

I'd start checking to make sure you have fuel going into the motor. Do a search on how to jump the fuel pump and make sure your fuel filter is not clogged.

Fuel pump is working fine, it has pressure at the top by the injectors. I think its electrical because I've been getting zapped when I open the door, and it feels like way more than 12 v which makes me suspect the coil area.

I've never in my entire life heard of such a thing.

Yes, the guy (30+ year toyota mechanic) who helped me put the new engine in thinks Im crazy also, but my brother is convinced its a bad ground that would cause this. I swear that I am getting zapped, pretty dang hard too. Its been happening for a while now but last night was the best one yet. It is coming off of the body of the truck. Its like the actual body of my truck is holding a positive charge.
To me, if the coil increases the charge and sends it to the distributor then its at fault, so I just put a new coil on it. On another note I found a blown fuse for the EFI, but in my excitement to run to the store I locked my keys inside. I'll update the thread when I replace the fuse.

I know that you think the coil is causing a positive charge throughout your truck which would shock you, but if you think about it, the metal on your truck acts as a ground. If there was a positive charge from the coil it would start a FIRE and not simply shock you.
I think that the shocking problem you are having is unrelated to the coil.

haha! I wish it was on a power line, wouldnt have died twice on the way home! Good thing I bought 2 boxes of fuses.
You are both right it had nothing to do with the coil, I tested it and it passed.
I am going to check all the components and wires. I know its not the o2, that was the first thing I checked. I think its under the dash because I did some "pre smog check engine light healing" a few years ago when I had first bought it. I probably pinched something and its now stripped.
