Tuffy console?
Ok, I was wondering if anyone has installed a tuffy console into one of thier 4Runners? I've heard that they fit but have never seen one installed before. Anyways, I like to see pictures if anyone has some. I plan on ripping out the interior carpet and console/gear shifter trim and putting a liner down. Also anyone know where I can get a new shifter boot?-Zach

I am snagging cv axle boots before they go off as cores from work. They work great as boots if that is the shape you need. + they are free. As for the console... some really cool dude is building one in the fab section that is based off the tuffy design. It seems like he is really slow though.:)

slow but effecient in his work. :great: |
I'm planning on using a .50 ammo can but since test fitting it early today it looks like it'll need some tweaking. I may try to incorporate a couple of cup holders too :)

tuffy box
I installed a tuffy series 2 box in my 88 runner. You have to make sure to get the 6 1/2" wide box and CANNOT get the one with a cd player holder bacuse it will be too long. It works well after you get used to the height of the box. One thing I like is that it has loops to put the seatbelts in so that when you roll the seat back it doesn;t get caught ... and of course I like the locking part. It's a strudy box with a comfortable armrest, plus it comes with a cupholder (fits best on the back or the console though). The only problem is it costs a bit of money

I got one in my 87 that was in my 85. There are a few pics on my website under projects and the 85 interior I believe.
