truck is making my eyes and throat hurt
Hi All,
I'm certain I have a leak of some sort under the hood of my '91 pickup. The truck runs great, but burns my eyes and throat after driving for a few minutes as well as it gives me a pretty raging headache.
I had replaced the exhaust manifold gasket as well as a cracked 'Y' downpipe when I first got the truck as they were leaking from there. I don't hear any exhaust leaks anymore, but am still getting dry eyes etc.. while driving. I know that one of the exhaust manifold studs wasn't tightened into the head all the way when I installed the manifold after replacing the gasket. Could I still be leaking exhaust from the E-manifold even though there's no sound of a leak from there?
Any other places to check?
Thanks very much!

Some exhaust gaskets smoke and stink for a short time ,but it should clear up in 10 minutes or so. If it has been longer recheck for leaks .

Hi again,
No, I do not have A/C, and also the gasket has been in there for at least a month so it's not burn-off.
If there was a leak from the exhaust manifold, however small, shouldn't it make a very loud tick?
Thanks very much
