truck cranks but wont start!

I was at work the other day about to pull out of the parking lot when my truck suddenly bogged down and shut off. I tried to give it some gas but it just didn't help. I tried many times to start it back up but no luck at all. The engine cranks but wont start. Thought it was the fuel pump so I changed it but after putting it in and testing to see if fuel comes thru the line...it didn't. I'm not sure if i need to replace the fuel filter as well or if this sounds like a fuel line problem. I drove this same model 87 Toyota 22r in high school and didn't have any problems and i never really worked on it but I'm trying to save money and do repairs myself, I'm pretty good about doing small repairs but this is getting the better of me. If anyone has any information that will help it will be greatly appreciated. Don't worry I do have a full tank of gas in the truck!

Have you checked for any stored codes? and assuming its a 22r.

22r carburated. by codes you mean in the cpu? wouldnt that only be on a 22re? if so then i guess that wouldnt apply to me :/ i replaced the fuel filter and pump. still not getting fuel the pump just spits air and the filter doesnt even have fuel in it. i guess my next best bet is to check for a dry rotted line?

Fixed it! My hose going from the fuel filter to the fuel pump was cracked and dry rotted. Cost $1.58.
