Traded my Heep for a 2WD 1991 Pickup named Travis
Well i posted my jeep xj cherokee on craigslist about a month ago and had yet to sell it. As always and like many of you on here i surf craigslist for toyotas and parts as well. I found this little gem for sale or trade here in st. louis and offered the jeep for it. Two days later it's on the trailer home and in my shop for a head gasket repair. Oil mixing with coolant was the problem and as we all know it could be a few things. I'm going to do the timing chain and head gasket to be safe and call it good. I might even put a engbldr head and cam in it as well but i've only had the truck for an hour and the ideas are already flowing. Let me know what you guys think and i'll be sure to start a build thread here so you all can follow along.
Here's the jeep. It needed a lot of body work. The floor pans are gone and the door hinges are rusted off. It needed rear axle work and a slave cylinder to mention a few things.
And here's the 1990 toyota 2wd pickup. It has a name and a history. Apparently the trucks name is Travis and that's the way it'll stay. It started right up to load and unload from the trailer but due to the oil and coolant mixing it will not be started and driven untill that's fixed. With 139,xxx on the clock i figure this toyota has yet to be broken in yet. I might have to go over to the toyotaminis site to get some ideas for the 2wd build since those guys like them low lean and fast.
And there you have it my new to me project. It's going to need some tlc but will soon be one bada$$ ride. I'm thinking 2" drop, 18's, paint, and one quick little 22re! I'm just happy this little truck didn't cost me any more than 200.00 bucks since that's what i had in the jeep! Pretty cool huh!
