It is always hard for me to tell how an engine sounds from a video, but your engine sounds fine to me.

Your 22R-E sounds better than my 22R actually.

Was there any new noises you are concerned with?

Thanks for your answer.
It's a ticking noise, but it's not clear in the video.

Half the people here will tell you the clicking ticking noise is normal and the other half will say something is really wrong! haha

The clatter is one of three things and easy to decern with a stethoscope. Listen to the valves, on both sides of the head. The injectors along the lower intake. The connecting rods along the oil pan.

If the loudest sound is direct from the intake its the injectors slamming closed (a good thing). If it's louder along the head to valve cover junction, the valves might need adjusted. If it's loudest at the bottom end learn to control rod knock and start planning to rebuild.

More concerning to me is the donkey squeel at the end, like the catalytic converter is plugged up. Maybe some bearing "whonk whonk" in there also that's hard to be sure if it's just the fan noise or something else.

I guess this is a polarized subject, like IFS vs SAS or welding vs fiberglass body repair

Thank you CO_94_PU, very interesting comment, I'm going to add an stethoscope to my toolbox.

I started/stopped the engine a few time last weekend and I didn't hear the 'donkey squeel' at the end, I'm going to pay attention to that also.

Thank you.

It sounded great to me. These things have there own special noise. I was at a parts store the other day and without even seeing the truck coming in the drive way, I told one of the managers I know ( he was installing wiper blades for an older woman) that there was a 22r/e truck pulling in. Sure enough it was a 92 two wheel drive truck.

Yup, the sounds on these engines run the gamut from really loud like a diesel to quite like a camry.
