It's pretty bullet proof except for the head gasket. Another guy just had a leaking front seal, I haven seen too many of those. https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116/3vze-crank-seal-dilemma-89255/

I have heard of a few leaking front seals on the 3.0. My 3.0 was rebuilt 30k ago and has already burnt two valves.

just make sure to keep the an eye on the coolant, and the pully up front. other than that with the new head you should be good to go.

man you guys are awful tough on the ol 3.0,take care of it & its not that bad a mtr, sure its under pwrd,it blows hd gskts, but how many other engines out there have similar issues, ive got one with 302,000 miles, had the v06 campaign done at 160k,it might give up tomorrow but hey, again, not many have that kind of reliability

3.0 Will Eat 22re's For LUNCH! I have Never Had Any Problems on Any Hill/Mountain/HP Issues Compared to my 22re Motors. 31's Will Kill a 22re! I Pass People Going up Hills Instead of Getting Dirty Looks For Going 45 Up Hills! 22re is Definitely a Better Engine in the Long Run. 3.0 Way Stronger!
