Is this too much for 3.4L donor parts?
I can get all the donor parts I need for a 3.4L swap from a local salvage yard for $1200 (engine plus all the other required odds-n-ends). The engine has 180,000 miles on it though, so I'm thinking I'll pass. What do ya'll think?
Thanks,

That's getting up there pretty high in mileage alright. I guess it depends on how well it was taken care of, which you probably don't have anyway to know for sure.

that price sounds about right but.....
i wouldnt pay that for 180,000 you should rebuild it at that point and then you will be into it pretty deep.
i would pay that for 100,000
good luck and keep looking

Right. I pulled the dipstick and looked at the air filter. Oil was clean (surprisingly) but the air filter needed changing. The only reason I'm even considering it is because it's a very convenient donor. I might be able to get them to do a compression test for me after they pull the engine, but I'd probably owe them some money if I walked away from it.
At this point, I'm still inclined to leave it and wait for one with less miles.
Anybody got a good reason to do otherwise?
Thanks for the feedback!

I purchased my 3.4l from a private party for 1200, the truck was rolled 6 times. It had 105,00 and started and ran just fine. The whole truck came with the purchase.
I did have to source an intake manifold due to a crack but this was not a problem for me because the 1st 3.4 swap truck runs a charger so I had a extra manifold
