tips on better searching this site/backspacing question
i try not to be too dumb, but im feeling that way...so whats the best way to search on here.
example. Im really looking to find out about minimum backspacing after I sas and put 35's on my 94 pickup.
id think id type in "backspacing" in the search, and like a million titles of just that would come up...but they dont, it seems to give me a bunch of loosely correlated stuff.
I hate being the guy that asks questions that I know are already covered in detail somewhere on here, but sometimes after searching for a while, I feel like im not finding it.
so any tips on searching, and or advise on minimum backspace on a 94 pickup, 3" tg sas, 35 X 12.50 X 15 (cooper stt). Im buying new rims and want to do er right. I will be trimming anywhere it needs, as my rig is beat and dont care about appearance...but not having to cut out firewall if its the difference of 1 inch backspace or something would be nice, but Im not really worried about having too.
thanks

try "SAS rim backspacing"? I just did that and got seven posts.
Try using terms relevant to your query but ones that are not too vague to cause excessive replies. If you don't get enough results, like you're being too specific, try adding or changing terms like "wheel" instead of "rim".
The search results will include posts that include all of your words.

The reason for the seemingly unrelated results is mainly due to members naming their threads incorrectly or too vaguely.
A lot of times, there could be a thread about what kind of shocks to use and that thread ends up talking about wheels and backspacing.
Also, members will sometimes post up with titles like, "HELP ME NOW!!!" which does not good at all when trying to search.
I try and go through and rename threads that I see like that hoping it will help people down the road when they try and search - who knows?
You can have it search either posts or thread titles.
If you want to search for any thread with "backspacing" in the title, just select that option.
If you want it to search every post on the board for "backspacing" then select that option.
I usually pick a few keywords, for example if I'm searching for mods for a 3.4L V6.
I would search for, "5VZ 3.4 mods mileage."
Or something similar.
In your case you could try searching for, "SAS backspacing wheel pickup."
If you notice right above the list of results, it will have all the keywords you requested separated by commas so you can see what exactly it searched for.
Sometimes common words will be omitted to aide in more relevant results.
Hopefully that helps you a little bit, give it a shot and see what you can come up with.
I appreciate you asking for help instead of just saying you tried and for us to leave you alone about it.

alternately try using google and use the "site:www.yotatech.com" qualifier so Google limits its search to "www.yotatech.com"
for instance: on Google.com search for "SAS rim backspacing site:www.yotatech.com" (without quotes, obviously)
here's the link for that search on Google: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q...h.com&aq=f&oq=

Google bots are on here 24/7 indexing everything for easier and quicker searching on their site.
Try both and see what you get.
I'm seeing a Searching tips Sticky in the making here...
