tailgate trouble
 

i just picked up a 89 4 runner ,the tailgate was smashed in bad enough too not allow the rear window to go down (amazingly the motor still works after being exposed to elements).i plan on getting a replacement gate but wondering if the by any chance 2nd gen gates will work for the 1st gen style.

The second generation hatches are completely different.

Though if you got the whole back section you could make it work if your body work skills are good.

thx appreciate it. yea dont wanna go thru much trouble fixing it so i guess ill find a 1st gen gate. thought i could catch a easier break finding one if 2nd gen fit normally
