tacoma rims fit??
So would 1998 tacoma rims fit a 92 4runner?
|
I think so. They fit my 87. You may have to get different lugnuts though.

Sweet I'm going to buy them, hell the tire are worth the 200 bucks the guy want for the whole setup. Oh yeah they are 31inch tires.

I don't mean to hijack your thread but I have a 92 runner that as far as I know came with 15" rims and 235/75/15 tires at least that is the way I got it. The rims are aftermarket rims but the spare is a 15" and looks new. I have some wheels from a 2000 or 01 Taco xcab and they are 16". Does anyone know if that will work out fine and what size and brand tire options would I have with my stock body height? They appear to be the same width there are no tires on the rims and they measure 8" across. What I am looking for are dual use tires for street and light to moderate trail use. They are six lug wheels but I haven't tried them on yet cause I have to at least mount a used tire on one or two of the rims to see what's up and I don't wanna do that if someone can tell me. Thanks in advance.

Thanks AMGraham, I guess I will clean them up and get them wrapped. 31s will be cool. I don't do a lot of crazy trail riding but there is one near here that I like to do through some hunting clubs that is 12 miles long next to a river with a lot of up and down but usually passable to most 4x4 with modest clearance. Right now I haven't had a clearance issue since I replaced my springs but you never know what the next rain will bring. And as an added bonus no cell phone reception better have a nice CB, (which I don't).
I have the truck with manual if I need to pull out the Runner though. If my 340 ever goes out i have a manual and flywheel etc. to swap in so I can take my time with my own personal trans. |
I was wondering the same thing About the 16 Inch rims versus the 15 inch rims. Let me know cause there are a few good deals on 16inch rims also?????

From my experience, buying the same tire for a 16 inch rim versus a 15 inch rim costs you about $20 more per tire. For instance, if I was buying a 33" tire for my 16 inch rim, it would cost me around $99 per tire. If I were buying a 33" tire for my 15 inch rim, it would be closer to $79. I personally still have 16 inch rims on my 01 Tacoma, but I plan on switching them out next summer when I get out of my junior year of college.
Hope this helps. Justin |
they'll fit, you may have to modify the center caps to go over the locking hubs in the front, i had to cut holes in the center of my land cruiser rims so they'd fit
|
Yeah thanks guys. I already checked out cutting the center of the front caps but what about the back do they work out ok? Thanks for the help I guess I will take my rims and drop them off at a tire shop.
|
The back caps work fine. My set only came with 2 caps so I don't even have any on the front. It doesn't look too bad though. Be sure to post some pics when you get them on!
|
Yeah if I can figure out how to get the pics out of my razor phone! I will post some pics soon i though I had some in my computer but they must have been thrown out. It will be a couple of weeks on my tires anyway, bills, wife, kid you name it. Thanks for all the help.
|
they will fit because i have the trd ivan stewart wheels on my 93 and have a set of stock steels off a tundra for off roading, both are 16x8. the trd's i had to have the hub centers board out to clear the lockouts.
|
Here's a pic of newer taco rims on a 1993. For the front center caps, there is a step in the plastic I guess to add looks, I cut where this step was and they fit perfectly.

That really improved the look and stance of the truck. Nice!
