A/T oil temp, Battery, Brake lights all came on?!
I was driving down the road shortly after i washed alot of clay and mud off my truck from wheeling yesterday and the A/T oil temp light, brake light, and battery light lit up and wont turn off and now the truck is not charging. I assume the alternator took a crap when i was washing the motor down and everything? I know it didnt happen from wheeling because i drove the truck home almost 2 hours and was fine and it was fine this morning before i washed it. Has anyone else had similiar problems to this and is there anything else that it could be? the relays and alt fuse appear to be ok. Is this a common problem or just error on my part because i didnt start the truck this ONE time and let it run while i was cleaning the motor and result was the alternator taking a ... any imput would be appreciated. thanks guys

check out the wiring around the alternator, make sure it's all dry
and the lighting 'feature' is caused by how the circuits are wired and powered, and causes a tattletale pointing at the alternator

That is EXACTLY what happens with an alternator failure. If if also overheated, you broke the alternator belt which turns the coolant pump. If the temp was fine it is just a bad alternator. Your brushes probably worn out with can be replaced for about $15.
