swapping a 22re in place of 22r
 
what all do i need to swap my 22r carbed motor out for a 22re fuel injected? my dads buddy has a rebuilt 22re i can get cheap.i also have an 88 parts rig that was efi but the motor is gone.so i should have anything i need.

You will need the fuel pump (take the whole tank), engine with harness (unplug at the ECU and pull through) ECU, intake with AFM, ignition coil and ignitor box. I am not sure how to do the COR relay but you will need to put the fuel pump on a switch or figure out the wiring for the COR relay.

swapping from carb to EFI is best done swapping the total harness from the EFI vehicle to the non-EFI one. It's not an easy thing to do, and even though you might be tempted to separate the EFI parts from the chassis electrical, swapping it all is ultimately easier to do.

the guy i got the parts truck from had it completly stripped. i got the tank and fuel pump here. i still have to get the cab and frame towed home.i'm hoping the computer is still there i'd say all the wiring is. where is the computer? i never even looked to see where its located

ya on your 22r in your passenger kick panel is a plastic box for emissions control, in the 22res its an ecu
