suspension noob question
i believe i have a 6inch lift. im on 31x11.50. i feel every bump when im driving on tore up country roads. im fine with it but im worried somthing is gunna raddle off my truck or my suspension is gunna break. is this normal? im still a noob and i bought the truck with this lift.

You "think" there's 6"? lol
How're the shocks? I know that really extreme short raddle can crack out susp parts btw. |
Can you move the truck down at all with your arms? Does the suspension move?
|
well i measured and its 2feet2cm from the ground to the door. i was just going by what a friend of mine said. so i really dont know what kind of lift i have. and my shocks are fine and in the back i have leaf springs and shocks. and i can move the front with my arms and the back i have to put a little more body weight into it to move the rear..

2 feet from the ground sounds about the right height for a stock 4x4.
|
+1 on sounding stock height.
how far is the rear axle from the bump stops? ... front control arms? got pics? |
ok so im sitting stock hight so the rough ride is normal? i guess the 31's make it look lifted. im a noob so i don't know any better, i was just going by what people told me. i do have picks but there not detailed

maybe the torsion bars are cranked?
change the shocks, get an alignment, rotate/balance the tires. should be a world of difference. |
|
whats that about?

That means, Im a smartass..
But seriously, We cant really answer your question because we cant see what were lookin at..Thus, This thread is worthless without pictures. On to the point: Take a nice closeup of your front suspension and post it here. :dj: |
lmao i never posted pics on a form.. do i use photo bucket?
|
omg it says pichers!!!! i skemed through it.. waaay over my head sorry guys..

I guarantee someone maxed out the torsion bars to get some lift. When you crank them all the way up there is no movement in the front suspension at all. Take a few pictures and either post them with photobucket or email them to me and I'll post them for you. Just get down in front of the truck and take a pic of the entire front suspension.
