I was on my way home and decided to make a pit-stop. I knew this yard had no 22re's that I could snag (well, complete core 22re's I could rebuild), so I figured I'd look for an A-pillar for the driver's side to replace the one that's full of holes because of my aftermarket guage pod, because I'm getting ready to do an SR5 gauge cluster swap.

Well, I found that (the blue color, but the gray shouldn't be a hard color to match) and a whole lot more



YES SIR!!!

2, count em, 2 SR5 CLUSTERS!!! (a cable speedo type, and an electircal speedo type) , a lighted ash tray and 12v plug off an SR5, dash speaker boxes from an SR5, a battery hold-down to replace my bungie cords , and my A-pillar replacement!








and I saw something that made my heart skip a beat... from excitement...



and then I seen this... yeah, I don't even want to get into it...





But sence I've already got an SR5 cluster on the way, keep you'r eye on the classifieds on YT for them, cause I'm gunna clean those bad boys up and list them on eBay!




oh yeah, total price for everything?

I garantee I'll get at lest $60 for each cluster

Actually, I'm like 99% sure the first cluster (one on top in the pics) is from a DLX because my '93 DLX had the EXACT same style cluster. Serves the same purpose, but just a little different, obviously

sweet man i love finding stuff at the yard...
last time i went, i picked up a set of locking hubs, afm,tps,csi, rear window relay, all the fuses,relays and interior switches for 60$ haha.

I was looking for an AFM and a set of hubs, but all I could find was air boxes and ADD flanges


but that reminds me, what gears came in say a 90 4Runner 4wd 3.0l with a manual? cause the one I pulled the bottom cluster shown had both rear and front 3rd's in it, and if it's got 4.88's, I'm bringing some more tools with me next time

Probably 4.10s. They didn't start the 31" tire package until '91 or '92. If it were an Auto, I bet it would have 4.56.

they had an auto, but the read end was gone and the front diff was inside the cargo area, lol

I have one torn apart right now, cleaning it, and I'll probably use the speedo and odometer out of it, cause it's a little closer to the one in my truck now... I plan to have it matching my truck's current odometer when I'm done

It's good to know, that it doesn't take much to make 'bleeder dude all giddy, and he's a cheap date to boot!!!!!! . 4.88's were standard gear ratio starting in '92 with the 31" inch tire package, and auto trans.

actually, the one with 103k on it the guy had stored, already removed from a 94 4Runner 4wd 3.0l auto. The one with 207k on it, I pulled myself from what I would say had to be a 90 or 91 maybe 4wd 3.0l manual, and that one had a few left over parts, amoung which I pulled the lighted ash tray and lighter. I pulled the speaker boxes from another 4Runner there, and then the A-pillar cover from a cab; not a truck, just a cab, cause that's all it was, lol, a cab laying on the ground... the frame and bed was nowhere to be seen, lmao

oh and I got the gauge clean a little soapy water on a wash cloth, and little rubbing, and then wipe it with a dry cloth, and viola!











and the one that was already taken off and stored, the electronic speedo one, that one has some flaws...

and a crack at one of the mounting points, but really that ones only noticable it you fool with it

Yea Me too. The yards hear rarely have toyota trucks or 4runners , if they do by chance have one it will be picked clean the same weekend it gets their.
You have to buy whole trucks with blown gaskets.
Their is 1 or 2 yards with just toyotas but you can not pick thru them , they will get what you want and charge you a billion dollars.

I originally just asked the guy about the A-pillar, and he's like "well that's not exactly something my computer will list, so just go back there and look to see if you can find what you need". I bet if I were to have told him "Hey I need a gauge cluster off so-and-so year and model Toyota", he would have probably sent one of his "boys" to go wrecklessly rip it out that's the main reason I like pulling the parts myself; if I know what I'm after, I know how to remove it without breaking it, lol, and I bet that's how the one cluster was damaged! The one I pulled myself is FLAWLESS! well it was untill he just HAD to write the freek'n numbers on the bottom of it with this pink paint-marker
