Strange steering problem w/ 2nd gen Runner in 4x4
Hey fellas,
Just looking for some ideas here. I've got a bit of a weird problem with the truck that I'm trying to figure out.
So the truck has has manual hubs installed in place of the factory auto-locking hubs. When in 4x4 the truck seems to have very erratic steering, especially when driving on slippery surfaces. I'll hit an icy patch, and the truck will suddenly veer to one direction or the other. When I put it back in 2x4 (with the hubs still locked in), the problem seems to mostly go away.
I recently had an alignment done, and the problem still persists.
Any thoughts?
