Hawk LTS pads and Brembo rotors for the front.
I used the premium NAPA shoes in the rear and had the drums turned. I highly recommend turning to replacing. Mine had plenty of steel left and it saved me $$$. A shop down the street did it for $12 apeice or something like that. They did look at me funny when I pulled up on my bicycle with two drums strapped to the rear.
For what its worth, my brakes are awesome now. Stops on a dime and no more shaking.

I did the V6 caliper and 1" MC upgrade this year for my 4runner and DAMN I can actually lock up my tires when I jam on the brakes (scary that my OEM brakes were that weak!
I have OEM rotors, calipers (old pads) and MC for sale dirt cheap in SF Bay area if you wanted any of it (for now or later).

I also upgraded the brakes on my '87, got the booster, master cylinder and rotors from a '95 runner and there is a big difference between the old and the new brakes.

The V6 brakes really are great. They are 4-piston fixed calipers. If I do my part and get the brakes nice and hot, they have unbelievable performance. I just curbed a pair of used V6 rotors last week. Whoops.
You could also consider getting your rotors turned, if they have enough meat left. Do you have a micrometer?

Check out rotor pros too btw. Drilled and slotted pads and rotors for the same $ I think. Definitely makes a difference in cars I've had it on -- imagine the slots will really help w/ brake fade on undersized brakes too...
On my to do on my V6, from rotor pros. Rear drums and shoes are about $100 I think. Definitely fair pricing and they seem to have a very high engineering standards.

what you are looking for are calipers that have the same diameter bores, you can easily see the difference from the outside... factory for your vehicle is one bore slightly smaller than the other ... trail gear sells all of the correct mc/calipers/vented land cruiser rotors stuff, if you want one-stop shopping.
this stuff is engineered to work together, so for best results you should do it all at once... that includes swapping out the vacuum booster for the large diameter dual booster that's found on t100's and such.
I have tested three brake boosters: a small diameter dual booster, a large diameter single booster, and the aforementioned large diameter dual booster... the large diameter single booster was the weakest.
when you switch to one of the dual boosters, remove the thick shim plate that I believe was located behind the large single booster... it'll just limit your brake pedal throw.

FSM looks good. Also might think about replacing your tire studs while you're in there for your rotors. They're a pain to go back and do later. Pack your wheel bearings if you haven't those in awhile too.
