SR5 Gauge Cluster

I just swapped in an SR5 gauge cluster from a '92 4Runner into my '93.

Everything works fine, except that the tach reads about 1000-1500 RPM too low. I believe the cluster came from a V6 model. Is there any way to get it to read the correct rpm?

yeah theres a away but im not sure i belive its something to do with something in the back of the gauge or trade it for a 22re cluster does the back of the cluster say 22re on the wire tape (the green thingy on the back) or does it say the v6 name

I'm not finding any markings on the wire tape... any other identifiers?

It almost certainly is from a V6 since it reads too low.

yeah Allan I think I read that too. But by the end of it I figured it would be so much harder, i'd just get a 4 cylinder one.

Auto vs. Manual trans

I have considered a similar swap for my '88 22r-e 5 speed, and know where to get a tach from a 22r-e auto. Is there any reason this will not work?

so what do I do to take the cluster apart...

I assume I need to push the plastic tabs in and pull it apart.

ok to get the cluster apart if i remember right you have to take a flat head and push the clips out one at a time and unscrew the trip reset thingamabober and then you can unscrew the gauges from the back if you have a picture of this cluster i can show you by reposting your picture with the right way to remove it
