Solenoid Location on transmission

When it comes to working on Toyotas I have no idea on where things are. My 67 mustang has decided to become a pain in my butt and not want to work correctly. So I'm starting to drive the old 4runner again. However I'm not getting the trouble code 62 for the O/D and I believe 74 for check engine light. So I need to know where the #1 solenoid is on the automatic tranny of a 95 4runner 4WD.

The check engine light was for failed EGR I believe, so I might look into getting that taken care of as well.

This should help.......

http://personal.utulsa.edu/~nathan-b...autotrans.html

Find out what tranny you have, if you don't already know. A google search on toyota tranmissions will tell you. Anyway, then look under the appropriate section.

Double check on that second code to see if you're reading it right. I wasn't aware there was a code 74 for these systems. Can't find it on the web, either.

Alright thanks for the link and I checked the list of trouble codes and it seems to be code 71 not 74.

Ah, that would be EGR system malfunction, for sure. Try reading this thread.......ignoring the offtopic BS, if you will. There's other info I can send your way, but this is a good start, I believe.
