Sliding glass rear window on my '93 pickup

I am curious about the sliding glass rear window on my '93 pickup. On my rear window the driver's side sliding window is plexiglass and the right side is glass. Is this the way it was from the factory? If not whoever did it did a really good job. Problem is the plexiglass flexes and it can let water in and makes it super easy to break into the truck. I was thinking about replacing it but didn't want to buy a new slider window and get the same thing. Thanks.

Thanks. I felt like it should have been. Whoever did it di an A+ job of installing the latch and trim to where I questioned whether it was a factory job.
