Should I get aftermarket shocks?

I got an 88 pickup with stock shocks I believe. My ride is definetly not bouncy but it is really stiff. I saw these bad a** reservoir shocks by fox that look awesome but they are pricey, whats the benefit of these reservoir shocks? Will it really change my ride that much? or should I save for something more important?

THe extra reservoir is to increase the amount of fluid and prevent boiling. They are for desert/ offroad racing and jumping trucks. They are not what you want for comfort driving around. Old Man Emu rear shock are really soft (because the springs are stiff) so OME shocks+ stock supension could give you a really soft ride.

The ride was worst on my truck when the front shocks were blown (it was fine for small bumps, but big bumps were terrible) and when I had stiff shocks for the rear.

if you just do driving and use your truck for medium/light duty 4wheeling, then the fox shocks would be overkill IMHO... id stick with bilsteins or OME shocks... ive also heard that the monroe shocks ride very well too...
