Rod bearing replacement
Hi
I have the 22re itashca rv. On 3/5 I was sitting at a red light a s got hit from behind at approximation 45 mph.
the insurance totaled her and I am still waiting. This was in parker Arizona. She was still drivable and road legal although it looked like hell. Just before leaving Arkansas in November u purchased her sister with a great body motor needs some work and the inside gutted and renodled. Originally I bought her for an investment but now I need her for a home as the other one was. So u wanted to drive it back purchase under salvage title and move brand new tires, all solar pieces etc etc to the sister. 8 did not get far. Knock developed and at idle shortly after spun a rod bearing. I get towed to side of road in Boulder Nevada on Thurs day and the shop that told me to bring it in would look at it Monday. He was a very nice guy and helped me by the way. So all my personnel stuff and all the mechanical stuff I am trying to come up with a plan and just sitting there so I walk couple miles and get bearings. I am an imposter mechanic and claim no more. Sunday i get to it and have the pan off around 4pm.obvious which bearing as it is welded together. The rod looks good does not appear to be bent. I sand the crank starting with 1000 grit. There is no apparent deep scratches.iassemble with grease and tighten journal and I have all plugs out. The debris from the bearing were in the pan and they're wasn't much.i saw none in the oil. I tighten the journal and crank will not turn with a19 mm on crank so I loosen the journal alittle and she moves.failing to remember my plugs are out ireassemble and when I tried to start it she turned to slow as the bearing was to tight or i should have sanded starting with 100 or so. I am going back as I have put it in storage to retrieve my personal stuff as well as mechanical before scrappjng.i am going to attempt a hailmary and try again.the other bearings appear good with no damage. I had just changed oil to Walmart purple 10w 20
based on what an engineer with toyota told me.best I can tell the cause was my new radiator.it sat about half inch further forward and when I put my cap on in tyne dark idailed to notice it was hitting the intake tube and never fully closed.so about 50 miles out although the gage read good reading air I overheated her.
1400 miles is all u want to be able to drive her.
Any advice ideas I would appreciate.is it possible my journal is stretched or misshapen.
Uwill bring a journal with me. What else should I have as a spare or possible need.
Thanks in advance. This has been a toughaone.have his ins and so does the other party but man 3/5 till now without wheels living with sis and brother in law no rental because although covered I had expended all my resources and could not put up the money and than wait so far 30 days for reimbursement. Now that is all real pain and suff a ring no need to fabricate it.
thank you in advanve

I'm going to try and put this nicely but it's pretty hard to understand what you're trying to say and I got way to much information out of it. To me it sounds like you overheated a 22re and seized a rod bearing and went to replace it and it's still seized? It's going to take removing the the engine and taking it to machine shop to fix that the crank will have to be ground and rod will have to either be worked over or replaced and possibly the other ones as well. It sounds like you're in a tight spot right and if I was in your shoes I would probably sell it or part it out. Don't scrap it though
