Is this the right timing chain kit?

I thought I orderd the Fel-pro Kit for my 22RE. But they sent me 22REC. Is there a difference?

The reason I was wondering? I put this on a year ago. And thingking back it seamed tight. I pulled the Valve cover off last weak, to adjust the valves and it still seems very tight. I don't know I just remember it being a little shorter than the original one. any input? Is there any harm in running it so tight? thanx

REC is the same thing. They are hard to get on and if the truck was running there is some oil preasure behind the tensioner so the chain will be tight. I don't think you have anything to worry about.

better to be tight than sloppy!

Thanks Alot guys. I just saw the thread where a guy got the wrong chain and I remembered how mine was a bit shorter than the original, and it got me wondering. So I pulled out my old receipp and saw they sent a REC anyway glad its nothing to worry about. Bryan

It was shorter because the original one had probally streched considerablly.

Good point. Thanx again

Might be made of steel, but they stretch. Everytime I have done a chain the new one is slightly shorter. If it was the wrong chain hopefully you would find this out when turning the engine over to check timing marks.
