results on 1994 4runner 3.4l swap (completed)

I got the truck for $400 with 113k miles on it with blown 3.0 of course. Clean truck though. After it was all said and done I have around $4500 invested. Anyway I traded it to my brother for a 77 Harley Sportster before I had it finished. So I finally got it finished two thursdays ago and put about 100 miles on it before I left to deliver it from St. Louis to Seattle WA. I had faith in the Toyota. I got around 16mpg over mts ets. with the cruse set between 80 and 90mph. At some points I was doing over 100 mph over the mts. going through Oregon! But once I got into WA I slowed it down and got what I was looking for: almost 20 mpg! After being intament with my project truck for over 30 plus hours and having know it for over a year I am now regretting the trade. Its too late to back out now. For all of you trying to decide if you are going to do the swap I am very satisfied with it. I would reccomed it to everyone. If you didnt know Seattle have a ton to toyotas and has the most amout of 4Runners I have ever seen. Every time I pull up to a 2nd gen 4Runner at a stop light I know who has the uppper hand. I get plenty of looks from them when I can pull posi as I dump the clutch from a light leaving them in my dust.
Anyway next project: 96 taco short bed 3.4 s/c 5 sp. Let me know if anyone has one thats wants to sell. By the way couldnt have done it with out you guys. Thanks for all the help everyone!

You traded a Toy w/ a 3.4l swap done & running for an Ironhead Sposta!?!*

Duuuuuude, what were you thinking? Unless that was a '77 XLCR w/ the siamese pipes, you got skinned! Oy vey!

Anyway, ride safe!

[sincerely hoping it *was* an XLCR, for your sake...]

* - For those of you thinking that was a typo, it's not: it's sposta be a motorcycle!

Congrats on the swap and swap. Was that your first 3.4L swap? Did you use the ORS harness? It gets much easier the second time...good luck on your next conversion.

That was my first one. I now know what I would and wouldnt do to make to swap easier. I did buy just the wiring harness and the crossover pipe from ors. Cost about $1000 for those 2. And the Sportster is just an xlch but it looks awsome. It maybe one of the loudest bikes on the streets of Collinsville and it is a real head turner.Black on Orange
