replacement engine
 

I have 86 toyota 4x4 with 22r engine...I don't have the funds to rebuild this one but might have enough to buy a used running one...what year do I need to look for so that I can keep the swap the simplest? any advice would be helpful...

I have a 22re from an 88 with 130,000 miles on it. Ill sell it for 200$$ Where are you located

A 22R from 84 to 87. You could use a RE model if it has the fuel pump mount on the head. You would have to swap over your intake/carb to the replacement engine.

NOTE: If you go to your User CP, you can add your state or city, etc to your data. Makes it easy to tell where people are located.

Any 22R/22RE from 85-95 will work, with a few minor adjustments such as intake, wiring, fuel pump, and fuel pump eccentric (if using an EFI engine)
