Redline Lubricants + 4runner = MPG+ ?
I'm new to this forum board and to 1st gen toyota 4runners (hopefully I'll be getting one this weekend). I was originally planning on buying a Dodge Dakota quad cab, and when I was doing research on these trucks I found that many members were using Redline Lubricants throughout their drive train, and some have seen significant mileage boosts all the way up to 24mpg in a quad cab 4.7L V8. Have any of you guys used Redline Lubricants in your toyota's and noticed a mpg boost?

Ive just put some in my t case and soon in my tranny, i doubt ill see any increase in mpgs.
Im mainly using it because it helps on alot in the shifts and its a fill synthetic so its gonna last a lot longer then dino oil.
I know alot of people use AMSOIL in there trucks.

I think alot of mileage claims are exagerated since it's not likely a fluid will truly increase real world mileage by more than 1-2mpg and it's hard to prove that the increase isn't due to other factors and is the increase consistent.

I run Royal Purple in the engine, tranny, t-case and front diff. I didn't notice an increase in milage but I did notice that the engine seems to gain rpms a little quicker when I'm on the skinny pedal and the shifters don't get nearly as hot as they used to on long drives. They would get so hot that you could feel the heat coming off of them if you were wearing shorts. The tranny tunnel is also a heck of a lot cooler.
As far as milage goes I get 22mpg in town and 24mpg when I load up and go fishing but I don't think the synthetic fluids have a whole lot to do with that.

I really don't think it'll make much of a difference. I use synthetics for everything but the diff (I use 85W140 vaseline in there). Redline MT90 works wonders in the tranny though, shifts so nice afterwards.
