Rebuilding a 3.0
My first time here, this is a great site. I bought a 90 4x4 with a 3.0 and 5 speed. It was losing antifreeze. As there was no sign of fluid loss outside the motor. I tore into it and sure enough the head gasket was leaking by. My question is i want to build a good motor with good parts. There are so my brands to choose from, which are the the top of the line? Also are there any tricks to getting a good seal for the HGs.

here is a great site for rebuild kits and other parts, http://engnbldr.com/ The parts are of very good quality and the service is excellent!

Thanks I sent them an email about the brand parts they use. He had a fast reply. Said they use Rock parts. No idea who that is! lol I guess i've worked on too many Chevys.

I just rebuild my 22re using one of there rebuild kits and an rv head and was very impressed with the quality and price!

What country makes these parts?

Has anyone ever put a 22r in a 3.0 truck? Is it a big pain?

If you are actually contemplating an engine swap, then take a long look at the 3.4 section in engine swap. It would be a far easier swap than putting in a 22RE, and it will give you better power AND milage than the 3.0.

I looked at the kit. 1700.00+ engine is alittle too pricey.
