Rear wiper ??"s

:con:First, I searched, but didn't really find the answer. Maybe I missed it, for that I'm sorry.

I changed my radio antenna today. While doing so, I had the back open for a little. When I put it up and rolled the window up, the wiper started running. I can't get it to stop. I followed the wiring and stuff, but couldn't find the issue. Any ideas??

Also, since I won't be using it all that often, is there a button or override for the rear window. If I unplug the wiper, I still can't get the window down.

Any suggestions?

Thanks for your time.:con::con:

How about a bypass or something, so I can just remove it?

Did you accidentally push the wiper switch on your center console when you were working on your radio? Sounds basic, but I have done that on my 84 4Runner when the key/engine is off, then when I turned on ignition or start the truck the wiper starts to run. It always surprises me. Just a wild guess!

If you unplug the wiper where the top comes off and there is a bolt in the "top bolt switch" hole, the rear window still works. This works on my 86 and 88 with the soft top.

I'll probably crawl back and unplug it from the corner and get the back open. Then, try to track down the issue.

I did hit the button while working on the radio and my son was crawling around the truck. After I noticed it running I tried everything I could think of to turn it off. Nothing's worked. Is there more than on rear wiper/fluid switch?

Basically looking for a "secret" switch, or possible causes for this issue.

Thanks

4runnerx3, what top is that? Cost?

Maybe the wiper switch on your console was damaged when your son was crawling around in the truck. Might be something to check first. If not, check this link to a site with some troubleshooting hints:
