rear window defrost repair

Hey, has anybody used that defrost repair stuff before? You paint it on where the defrost lines have been scraped. I have a couple of lines on mine that don't work. Might be worth a try. :nerd:

The repair stuff works great. Be sure you get a fresh bottle as shelf life is short.

And make sure the window is really clean otherwise it won't stick

Any chance I could use this stuff to "cold solder" the defroster terminals onto the window?

Don't know if it would work but for less than $10 it's worth a try. I'm sure there a few people who would like to know if it can be done.

tc, I tried it a couple months ago and it's still working. This is how I did it. First I removed the window from the gate and cleaned up the terminal area (one had broken off). I then applied a heavy coat where the terminal attached and secured it with a small C-clamp. I applied several heavy coats around and on the reattached terminal waiting for a partial setup between coats. After it was completely dry it seemed pretty secure, but not wanting to take a chance I applied a good overlapping coat of JB-Weld over it. I use the rear window and door often and the defrost still works great. I guess only time will tell.

The grid repair works good if properly installed. Take time to tape off the area properly so the repair doesn't look like crap. I believe there is a special adhesive just for reattaching the terminals. I think Napa sells some.
