Rear Seat Back Carpet Removal

Rear Seat Back Carpet Removal
I would like to remove the carpet on the back seat of my 4runner. I am installing camo seat covers and I am unable to attach the straps. The carpet is continuous from the top of the seat back to the rear cargo door. I could try to cut slits in the carpet to feed the straps through. I thought it would be alot cleaner if the straps were behind the carpet especially when you lay the seat back flat. Thanks for any help or recommendations.

wait, i see a 94, correct?
The seat backing is sewn to the main rear carpeting. They are just plastic clips. Just slip a flat blade screwdriver down between the steel seat back and the cardboard, and lightly pry it out. They are not super hard to get out.
